Karina Goulordava and Santiago Vargas Niño join as project officers

CMN is delighted to welcome Karina Goulordava (Project Officer) and Santiago Vargas Niño (Colombia Project Officer) to our team, in support of our work, including on the prosecution of conflict-related sexual violence in Central African Republic and Colombia.

Karina Goulordava: Project Officer

Karina will support the implementation of CMN activities, including project and grant reporting, the organisation of trainings and events, and outreach materials. Karina has an educational background in cultural studies, anthropology and urban planning from the University of Pittsburgh (summa cum laude) and the American University of Beirut. Professionally, she has over five years’ experience working as a project, finance and outreach manager with Lebanese and international NGOs, as well as a researcher at the Utrecht University. She has received several professional trainings in grant application and report writing, capacity-building, strategic planning, financial management, security and gender mainstreaming.

Santiago Vargas Niño: Colombia Project Officer

Santiago will join CMN’s Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) team in Colombia, supporting the delivery of all SGBV activities, including trainings, case mentoring, support materials and outreach. Santiago is a Colombian qualified lawyer, with LLB in Law and BA in Political Science from the University of the Andes, and an Advanced LLM in Public International Law (cum laude) from the Leiden University. Before joining CMN, Santiago worked as an intern, legal assistant and assistant legal officer for the ICC OTP, and as a lawyer and researcher at various Colombian institutions. He has also lectured on international criminal law, international humanitarian law and transitional justice at several reputable Colombian universities.
