Fellowship: Sexual and Gender Based Violence

Purpose of the Role

The Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) Fellow will provide administrative, research and communications support to our activities in CAR, Colombia and DRC, working alongside CMN Experts and Advisers.

Main Responsibilities

  • Coordination of research and delivery of country activities with one or more country teams;
  • Drafting, editing and formatting of reports, briefing papers, event materials and blog posts;
  • Organisation of project events with country teams;
  • Research of legal documents, policies and reports relevant to the priorities of country teams;
  • Adaptation and translation of short documents (English⇔Spanish or English⇔French).

Knowledge

  • Demonstrable knowledge of criminal investigation and prosecution of SGBV in conflict, the International Criminal Court, complementarity and national criminal justice issues;
  • Familiarity with legal systems and policy environments of CAR, Colombia and DRC;
  • Fluency (written, spoken and reading) in English and French (preferred) or Spanish.

Skills and Experiences

  • Practical experience of international criminal justice issues and environments;
  • Competence in event organisation and project implementation;
  • Familiarity with digital and social media, international criminal law databases, online referencing programs;
  • Excellent IT and Office skills: editing and formatting publications, PPT, infographics etc.

Qualifications

  • Postgraduate degree in law, political sciences, international relations or equivalent with proven knowledge of international criminal justice (through modules/dissertation).

  • Critical information seeking, capacity to identify solutions and attention to detail;
  • Clear communication with different team members;
  • Excellent time management skills.
